Mid-Missouri Geocachers

Hello! I'm GeoJon2021.

Many, many thanks to Unitzoid for hosting and setting up this forum for us. This should be a universally usable space for anyone who uses the internet and not dependent on any particular application-owning company intent on harvesting our usage of this space. Let's have fun.

I am a recent re-import to Missouri, having left to live in Minnesota for 30+ years. Moved back late 2019. I am in Columbia and work at the Columbia Public Library. Yeah! Libraries! Married, two kids, three grandkids, three cats.

I have been actively geocaching since 2021. In 2023, I joined DrumWoman in offering geocaching presentations at the library and am now in a race with one of my Minnesota friends to up our geocaching numbers. Frankly, I'm still very much in learning mode and in awe of some of our more experienced, driven and welcoming members.

Loving the journey. Never seeing a final destination. Boots on, device in hand, off we go. Don't forget to hydrate.

Hello everyone, I'm Unitzoid! Back in 2005, I was marking my favorite spots in Rock Bridge Memorial State Park here in Columbia with a Magellan GPS 310. Someone stopped me near the famed rock bridge and asked if I was geocaching. I've been hooked since!

While I'm known for crafting mind bending puzzles, I also like creating historical or multi-stage caches with a theme. I tend to travel to the great outdoors in pursuit of caches when not producing new hides. Long hikes with a handful of finds make for a perfect geocaching day.
