Mega Event Advice?

I'm considering attending my first mega event this year, and probably West Bend in Wisconsin because after 30 years in Minnesota and family left behind there, I might be able to combine the weekend with seeing old friends. Maybe not - I've not asked.
Anywho, I think Mingo Madness would be epic to claim as my first event.
And Midwest GeoBash is so organized that their camping registration is easily found and they have a very welcoming and useful website. That impressed the heck out of me.
